Dog Collars – The Loyalty Question

Dog collars are crucial to make sure your dog never loses its way – no matter how loyal they are.

Dog collars are crucial – not just so you can practically keep a tag of your pet, but also of course to attach leads safely and comfortably. Dog collars offer a way to make sure your pet’s name and address is always accessible if it does get lost. But sadly, there are many dogs that have their dog collars removed by uncaring owners as the pets are abandoned. The message that a dog is for life, not just for Christmas simply doesn’t hit home for some dog owners. One animal charity hit out at those dog owners who purposefully take off their pet’s dog collars and dump the animal in favour of ‘cuter’ puppies in the same way they upgrade their mobile phones.

Dog Collars for Dog Lovers

For dog lovers and those whose pets are a firm part of the family, it’s a shocking idea that anyone would unfasten a dog collar and just abandon an animal. But animal shelters all over the UK are testament to the fact that people can be incredibly cruel to their pets. Dogs tend to be incredibly loyal creatures, and pet owners should reciprocate that trust. In fact, the role dogs have as man’s best friend is one that is valued by millions of people all over the world. Some dogs are so loyal that their dog collars are almost insignificant – they’ll follow their owners to the ends of the earth. And some dog owners feel so powerfully for their dogs that they’ll sacrifice anything for them. Year after year there is yet another story about a loyal dog owner drowning as they try and save their dog that’s got into trouble. In Taiwan, one couple who had six dogs, refused to be rescued from a typhoon-ravaged village because the rescue team didn’t have room on their boat for their dogs – even though the team promised to return for them later. The couple were found dead huddling with five of their dogs – all of which died in the floods. The sole canine survivor drew the attention of the rescuers with its barks. The story that the loyal dogs guarded the owners with their lives has moved many people – and the surviving husky was inundated with owners hoping to adopt him.
